Development of the modular and flexible APS THE GRID buffet system
THE GRID is a modular buffet system conceived by sieger design to intentionally dissolve the traditional boundary between buffet and table. The starting point was the question of how functional requirements, efficient processes and a refined table aesthetic can be brought together within one coherent system. The result is a clearly structured design concept that streamlines workflows, enables new forms of presentation and considers buffet and table settings as a continuous whole.
A new understanding of buffet and table culture takes shape through THE GRID. The modular system translates the established VALO principle into a new context, connecting presentation and service through a consistent design approach. Buffet and table merge seamlessly – precise in function and calm in expression.
A clear system logic underpins the design: all elements follow coordinated diameters and a unified formal language. This allows a high degree of flexibility in combination while maintaining visual clarity. Porcelain, glass and wood form a balanced material palette that conveys lightness, quality and lasting relevance.
On the table, THE GRID is defined by restraint and balance. Each element integrates naturally into a wide range of table settings – from breakfast through to fine dining. At the buffet, the system brings structure and legibility: variable heights, levels and modular arrangements support a clear presentation without compromising a sense of openness. In combination with the VALO system and integrated cooling options, THE GRID offers a flexible and professional solution.
THE GRID is not a fixed product, but a configurable system. Modular in principle, universally applicable and consistent in detail – creating a natural continuity between buffet and table.
